CMG Technologies is no stranger to improving products across various sectors using metal injection moulding (MIM). Thanks to its years of experience and innovation, it has been a vital asset to businesses in the instrumentation industry.

The instrumentation sector relies on precision to indicate, measure and record physical quantities. It’s used to detect gas, changes in temperatures and more in professional and household environments. So, accuracy is key.

Thanks to the intricacy achieved through MIM, we are able meet the needs of instrumentation businesses at ease. Not only that, but we are also able to provide fine detail to components. So, companies can ensure their products stand out from their competitors.

CMG Technologies works closely with independent sensor manufacturer, Clairair, which supplies sensors to business all over the world. Their products use a range of techniques, one of which is optical sensing to detect hydrocarbon and carbon dioxide. The company wanted to mould their parts for some time but did not want the costs associated with ordering overseas. Therefore, CMG Technologies’ in-house services provided the perfect solution to their needs.

As part of our work for Clairair, we use MIM to manufacture optics used in miniature infrared gas sensors. The sensors are predominantly used in fixed gas detection systems worldwide. However, they are also widely used in petrochemical plants, shipping, boiler rooms, environmental monitoring for carbon dioxide and more. So, our work is used far and wide to keep people safe.

CMG Technologies continuously explores new ways to enhance its MIM process, as well as offering 3D printing and fibre optic services. To find out more about the benefits of MIM, please visit our Benefits, Markets & Applications page.
