CMG Technologies is an internationally renowned specialist in Metal Injection Moulding (MIM), providing injection moulded components to the medical, aerospace, automotive and industrial sectors for over 25 years. We supply components of unrivalled quality and maintain full accreditation to ISO9001-2015.
Whilst MIM is our core business, we do also have our own range of Fibre Optic Components which can be ordered from our distributor Essentra Components.

MIM is effective in producing complex components in annual volumes tailored to each individual product. Our MIM process is suitable to provide both small or large annual volumes of components, while maintaining cost effectiveness.

CMG is the only business in the UK to facilitate the complete MIM process in-house – a manufacturing method for metal, which is used to produce precise, complex parts in large quantities with low waste.

2024 – Promotion of Rob Kirk to the position of General Manager

Rob joined the CMG family in September 2022 as Operations Manager and immediately hit the ground running. Rob’s promotion is reflective of the wide range of responsibilities he has taken on, supporting the growth of the business while ensuring we maintain the highest standards and quality we are renowned for.
2023 – Technical Sales Manager joins the team
December 4, 2023
CMG Technologies employed an on-the-road Technical Sales Manager to grow CMG’s and Indo-MIM’s services throughout the UK. Mark Leonard will be an integral part to CMG’s growth and building on existing relationships will clients.
2023 – CMG joins Indo-MIM group
July 19, 2023
CMG Technologies is acquired by the world’s leading MIM specialist, Indo-MIM. This marked a significant milestone in the continued growth and investment in CMG Technologies. While the company joined Indo-MIM, the team and its commitment to providing the highest quality of services remained the same. Find out more about the acquisition here.
2022 – New injection moulding machine
November 23, 2022
CMG Technologies made further investments into their machinery collection. The Arburg 370C Golden is the ninth injection moulding machine onsite, helping to increase MIM service capacity. The £55k machine will be fitted with robotics to allow for continuous running.
2022 – New furnace
April 4, 2022
CMG Technologies purchased a new furnace to support its MIM and 3D printing services. The ECM machine brings the total number of furnaces to four.
2022 – 3D printing investment
February 1, 2022
To boost the growing offering of 3D metal printing services, CMG Technologies invested in a state-of-the-art 3D printer by 3DGence. This brings the total number of 3D printers to five.
2021 – 3D metal printing services
September 20, 2021
CMG Technologies proudly began offering 3D metal printing services to clients in addition to MIM, using a BCN W27 and Ultimaker S5. Services range from the initial concept design to printing and finally debinding and sintering to leave a dense metal component.
2021 – Furnace investments
June 30, 2021
CMG Technologies invested in a new sintering furnace and ceramic furnace to increase capacity and optimise processing.
2020 – Won regional Wellbeing Award at FSB Awards
December 9, 2020
CMG Technologies’ commitment to treat staff ethically was recognised with the Wellbeing Award for the East of England at the Federation of Small Businesses Awards.
2020 – Won Innovation in Business award at Suffolk Business Awards

The company’s MIM process and efforts to produce critical parts for ventilators in the fight against Covid-19 led to winning the Innovation in Business award at the Suffolk Business Awards.
2020 – COVID-19 ventilators
April 9, 2020
CMG Technologies offered its support to make critical parts for ventilators following a call for help from the government. As keyworkers, the company used MIM to create two vital parts for the lifesaving machines within short production times.

Invested in robotics on the moulding machines to increase productivity and improve quality for all products and clients.
2019 – ITV4’s Made In Britain
November 13, 2019
CMG Technologies’ expertise in MIM featured on ITV4’s Made in Britain, highlighting the company’s unique manufacturing process. The documentary focused on the creation of razor heads for Edwin Jagger Safety Razors and the benefits MIM brings to produce precise, complex parts with minimal waste.
2018 – Chris Conway passes away
October 22, 2018
Chris Conway, one of the original founders and Company Chairman, died after a brave and stoic battle with cancer. He was diagnosed in 2016 but continued to work with a strong and positive mindset. However, the disease spread and he lost his battle on October 22. Chris is dearly missed by everyone at CMG Technologies. Phil Marsh and Rachel Garrett, along with the rest of the team,
2017 – Updated ISO certification
January 1, 2017
CMG Technologies was one of the first companies to be formally certified for the ISO 9001:2015 standard. Companies were given a three-year transition period, but CMG Technologies decided to apply as soon as possible to provide assurance to clients.
2016 – Chris Conway semi-retirement

Chris Conway makes the decision to take semi-retirement and step down as MD and take on the role as Company Chairman. Rachel Garrett steps up into his role and becomes MD.
2015 – Four-day working week

CMG technologies adopts a four-day working week to provide staff with more flexibility. This has proved popular and has had a positive impact on productivity, as well as employee wellbeing.
2014 – Investment in new sintering furnace opening new markets
October 13, 2014
Funding from the New Anglia LEP enables CMG Technologies to invest in new sintering furnace to facilitate the production of Titanium MIM parts to help the company access new markets.
2013 – MBO of Egide UK. Conway Marsh Garrett Technologies formed, trading as CMG Technologies Ltd

Change in Egide SA Group’s market strategy resulted in Egide UK’s senior management team of Chris, Phil and Rachel being offered 100% of Egide UK shares. Conway Marsh Garrett Technologies (trading as CMG Technologies), which was named after the three Directors, continues to operate out of its Rendlesham HQ. Whilst the name changed, the team of dedicated employees remained the same, as well as the vision to maintain the position of MIM market leader in the UK.
2004 – Rachel Garrett joined Egide UK as Sales & Marketing Manager from Molsen Coors

Rachel joined Egide after graduating from Hull University and completing a three year Sales & Marketing Graduate Scheme with Molson Coors which had fast tracked her into a Senior Management role. Rachel continued the drive to move the company from a machined component manufacturer to a Metal Injection Moulding Specialist. During this time the MIM process was honed and the customer base expanded, ensuring business was secured from diverse industries across a global market.
2002 – Europlus acquired by Egide SA to form Egide UK Ltd

Egide SA, specialists in the manufacture of hermetic packages for sensitive electronic components, had already recognised the capabilities of MIM and regarded the acquisition of Europlus as an effective way to obtain a MIM manufacturing base to complement their product offering.
2000 – Dr Phil Marsh joined Europlus from Manganese Bronze

With more than 20 years experience in Powder Metallurgy and a PHD in the Sintering of Mixed Powders, Dr Marsh brought extensive technological expertise to Europlus and played a significant role in establishing the company’s MIM operation in Rendlesham.
Late 1990s – interest in MIM developed due to customer demand

Europlus experienced an increase in requests from customers for components that were ideally suited to MIM processing in terms of size, design and production volume so Chris implemented the transition from precision machining to MIM Manufacture.
1998 – Chris Conway appointed MD of Europlus from Hewlett Packard Fibre Optics

Chris brought a wealth of knowledge to his role as MD of Europlus with over 20 years’ experience in senior management positions within various Blue Chip companies. It was Chris who identified the opportunity for Metal Injection Moulding (MIM).
1975 – Europlus Fibre Optic Products established
