‘It feels like home’ – why Mark loves life at CMG

From jet-setting to far-flung destinations to building meaningful relationships with our customers, our Technical Sales Manager Mark Leonard said there is so much to love about his job at CMG this Valentine’s Day.

While this devoted family man loves nothing more than spending time with his family, his varied role in generating more business for the company could well come a close second.

Since joining the business in 2023, Mark has been shouting from the rooftops about his love of CMG, often being the first person our clients meet through his role out on the road.

“I think it’s amazing here,” he said. “It’s such an interesting place to work and the people are all so incredibly talented. I love every single day – the working culture here is amazing.

“From the first day I arrived, it felt like home. Everyone made me feel so welcome and I fitted in straight away.

“I love how fascinating the technology is and how skilled the workforce are. Everyone works so well together, regardless of the department – it’s very much a team effort always!

“I’ve never come across anything like it in my previous roles.”

As our Technical Sales Manager, Mark spends most of his time away from our Suffolk office, instead travelling across the country – and often further afield – meeting new clients, representing CMG at trade exhibitions or building on existing relationships.

He recently traveled to India to meet with our colleagues at INDO-MIM, gaining expert insight into the business’ global operations.

“India was an incredible experience,” he said. “It was marvelous.

“I’ve never experienced anything like it before, all the hustle and bustle – our factories out there are out of this world. The skills and expertise of the workforce were extraordinary.

“One of the days was a public holiday, so we got to visit a UNESCO World Heritage site; the temple was truly amazing and awe-inspiring. The whole experience was just eye-opening.”

While inter-continental trips aren’t a regular feature of his role, there are other exciting trips on the horizon for Mark – including a trade show in Ireland.

“We’ve got a medical expo coming up in September over in Galway. I’m really looking forward to it.

“A lot of what we do is for the medical industry, so it’s nice to know the things we are creating are helping to change lives. It’s amazing to play a part in.”
